The Arkle Trophy Chase is a two mile novice chase run on the first day of the Cheltenham Festival. Former winners of the Arkle Trophy include the likes of Moscow Flyer, Azertyuiop, Voy Por Ustedes and Sizing Europe who all went on to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase a year later. The Arkle can be a very good pointer when looking at the form for the Champion Chase. In the past twenty years Martin Pipe has saddled four winners whilst Nicky Henderson has saddled three.
