
The Champion Bumper is the last race run on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival meeting, run as a National Hunt flat race over two miles and 110 yards. 13/12/2009 - Navan - Ladbrokes Cheltenham Bumper Series Future Champions Flat Race
This was the third straight bumper win for the five-year-old who touched off 1/3 favourite Tornedo Shay into second. He goes to the festival with a long rest behind him plus an eyecatching jockey booking in Robert Thornton.
26/12/2009 - Leopardstown - Irish Foal Levy (C & G) INH Flat Race
This two length win for the Dermot Weld trained four-year-old was enough for bookmakers to install the horse as ante-post favourite for the Champion Bumper.
27/12/2009 - Leopardstown - Paddypowermobile.com Bumper INH Flat Race
There was a bit of an upset in this race as 11/10 favourite Some Target was beaten three quarters of a length by the winner. Oliver McKiernan's five-year-old holds an entry for the Champion Bumper but isn't fancied by the bookmakers.
29/12/2009 - Leopardstown - Affordable Racehorse Ownership INH Flat Race
Willie Mullins has an excellent record in the Champion Bumper and this horse still holds an entry in the race, despite talk of him going hurdling as early as this season. This hasn't materialised and although he is not one of the fancied Mullins entries he will go to Cheltenham off the back of a win.
23/01/2010 - Leopardstown - Ladbrokes Cheltenham Bumper INH Flat Race
The second of Dermot Weld's market leaders for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham along with stablemate Elegant Concorde who won at the Christmas meeting. This was an impressive ten length win for the four-year-old in his only race under rules.
13/02/2010 - Newbury - Bet Totepool at Totesport.com Winter Bumper
A winner under different owners at Fairyhouse in December, this French-bred five-year-old is the best fancied English trained runner in the betting for the Champion Bumper at the festival.
20/02/2010 - Fairyhouse - Rockview INH Flat Race
Willie Mullins first string for a crack at a seventh win in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, Day Of A Lifetime was an easy five and a half length winner here at Fairyhouse.
28/02/2010 - Leopardstown - Ladbrokes Cheltenham Bumper Series INH Flat Race
This three length winner has shot into Champion Bumper contention for trainer Edward O'Grady following his second win here at Leopardstown.
