Coral Cup Background

The Coral Cup is a handicap race that often involves a large field competing over a distance of 2 miles and 5 furlongs, with ten hurdles to be negotiated. It is open for horses aged four and over and is a Grade 3 race with a prize purse of £75,000.

Winners have been shared between trainers in recent times with no one trainer dominating, although Martin Pipe leads the way for most wins with three, including the inaugural race in 1993.
