The Triumph Hurdle is the first race run on the last day of the Cheltenham Festival meeting, run over two miles and one furlong for four-year-old juveniles. Far West continued his winning run scoring for the second time at Cheltenham this season with ease and with it he shortened further at the head of the Triumph Hurdle betting.

This was an impressive performance from the Dessie Hughes trained juvenile, who was installed as ante-post favourite for the Triumph Hurdle in March as a result.

Irish Saint won for Paul Nicholls but the trainer reported after the race that the horse was likely to miss Cheltenham for the Aintree Grand National meeting.
